Every year, around one billion disposable coffee cups end up in landfill in separate countries. About 300 million of these, or one third of the national total, are disposed of. The average disposable coffee cup is used for 10–20 minutes. Disposable coffee cups are single use items. By their nature, they have very short life spans, especially considering the many resources such as energy, water and raw materials used to create and transport them. Avoid Consider a re-usable coffee cup campaign in your workplace. Step 1: to start with a baseline, look in your bins to count how many coffee cups your workplace throws away daily. Step 2: talk to staff and seek champions to help set a target and run your campaign. Step 3 : supply re-usable cups to staff. Tip: provide various options for staff to choose their preferred colour, style and size. Step 4 : ask staff to pledge to use their cup while having their photo taken with it. Post these photos to show that everyone is doing it. Step 5: evaluate and celebrate your successes: do a monthly audit of disposable cups to ensure the program maintains momentum. You could also consider: • Negotiating discounts on hot beverages at local caf é s for staff bringing re-usable cups • Using weekly email updates about re-usable cup usage with varied content, including how much waste is being reduced • A reminder sticker on computers for staff to take their re-usable cup with them when buying coffee. Reduce Consider supplying a plunger or percolator to consume beverages on-site. Re-use Retailers can introduce a discount when customers bring their own reusable coffee cup. Workplaces can introduce an incentive program for staff using reusable coffee cups. Workplaces could also provide a pool of re-usable cups available for staff use. This ensures there is a re-usable option when staff or guests don’t have their own cups. Recycle Some disposable coffee cups can be turned into useful items such as re-usable cups, furniture, car park bumpers and storage crates. However, because of the range of different materials used to make them, disposable coffee cups cannot be recycled through the standard yellow recycling bin. To recycle your disposable cup, you can organise a recycling collection. Check with a recycling service provider for the minimum volume needed. Alternatively, you can take disposable coffee cups to a local business that already has a coffee cup collection program in place. What is a disposable coffee cup made from? There is a variety of disposable coffee cups available. Generally, disposable cups have three main components: 1 . Cup – Most cups are made from virgin wood fibre. 2 . Cup lining – The inside of paperboard cups is coated with a polymer lining to provide a waterproof barrier and structural integrity. It is estimated that up to 98% of the disposable coffee cups used in Australia are lined with Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE). 3 . Lids – Cup lids are usually made from High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS). HIPS carries the plastics identification code #6 and is recyclable if it is separated and sent to a separate plastic collection system. Given the composition of disposable coffee cups, there has been some confusion regarding their recyclability. Disposable coffee cups can’t go into a co-mingled recycling bin as existing paper recycling equipment cannot easily separate paper fibres from the polymer lining. Cups in the yellow recycling bin are often rejected as contaminated waste once they reach materials recovery facilities or paper mills, and subsequently land-filled . Aluminium foil (Aluminium foil), also known as aluminium foil, is called tin foil in Hong Kong. It is a tool made of flattened metal aluminium. It is mainly used for cooking in the kitchen, to hold food, or to make something that can be easily made. Clean materials. Hundreds of thousands of tons of aluminium foil are used worldwide to protect and package food, cosmetics and chemicals. Most aluminium foil is shiny on one side and dull on the other. The aluminium foil paper used for food can be wrapped on both sides of the food. Generally, it is recommended to wrap it with a bright surface to improve the heat transfer effect. History: The original tin foil was really made of tin. Tin foil was harder than aluminium foil, and it also brought a tin smell to food. Therefore, after the aluminium price dropped, aluminium foil replaced tin foil in daily life. However, because metal aluminium can affect the development of the brain, the surface of the current aluminium foil is coated with a coating to avoid the release of metal aluminium. Aluminium is used in food containers for different reasons: it provides a very good barrier to protect food against light and air and preserves food quality; it can be recycled and designed individually according to customers’ requirements; it can be produced in different sizes and shapes. In addition, aluminium is a lightweight material and for this reason it has a positive effect on the production costs. Is an aluminium foil container good for use? Aluminium packaging has many advantages over other forms of packaging. For this reason, aluminium food containers are used in a wide range of applications. Here some advantages of aluminium foil trays: Heat conductivity (aluminium distributes heat homogeneously improving the cooking of food in the oven) Hygiene and safety (aluminium is sterile and safe for use in direct contact with foodstuffs) Multi-mode cooking (aluminium containers can be used in traditional oven and with some precautions in microwave too) Sustainability (aluminium foil trays are fully recyclable) Performance (aluminium food containers can be used in the domestic and industrial sectors) Design (round or square, big or small size, these containers can be made to fulfil any number of functions) Functions: Aluminium paper is usually used to carry food (such as: aluminium foil paper trays). When roasting, it is used to wrap bean sprouts, potatoes, sweet potatoes, etc. to prevent them from burning. Sometimes used for decoration. Modern aluminium foil is made of aluminium and can also be used as aluminium electrodes for electrolysis. There are also hairdressers who perm the guests with aluminium foil. Some people also use aluminium foil to absorb the oil in the soup. Aluminium is also widely used for insulation, heat exchange, and as a conductor. Generally, the thickness of aluminium used in paper-packed beverage packaging and food packaging bags is only 6.5 microns. This thin layer of aluminium is water-resistant, umami-resistant, bacteria- and stain-resistant. Uses: Holding Food: It is very common to use aluminium foil paper trays to hold food. Although aluminium foil paper trays are disposable, the composition is aluminium, which is less harmful to nature. Barbecue: Some foods (such as sweet potatoes, mushrooms, etc.) must be wrapped in aluminium foil to avoid burning. It is wrapped in aluminium foil to cook seafood, oyster mushrooms, etc., which can retain the umami flavor. Hair Styling: Some hair stylist will wrap the hair with aluminium foil to heat the hair and have better heat transfer effect. Improper hair using aluminium foil can cause burns and poor hair quality. Oil absorption: After opening the aluminium foil paper in a ball, you can absorb the oil in the soup. The principle is that during the crumpling of aluminium foil paper, the surface tension of the aluminium foil paper will be amplified. Confused by the technical jargon or buying refuse sacks, or are you buying a sack which is too strong for your application? This 3 step-guide helps to simplify the jargon to help you chose the right type, size and thickness. Step 1 - Choose the type required Where is the waste going to end up? · If it is going to compost, you will need a compostable sack. · If it is going to landfill: - High security waste (especially in public spaces etc.) Use clear sacks. - General/Domestic Waste - either a black sack or if it is part of a recycling scheme you may want coloured sacks. - Industrial use - Extra heavy duty black sacks or compactor sacks (compactor sacks are available in both black and clear). Step 2 - Calculate the size you need To calculate which size refuse sack is needed for your bin, just use these simple formulas. Round Bin Width of sack= Radius of bin x π (3.14) Length of sack= Length of bin + approx. 15cm for overhang and tying Length Radius Rectangular/Square bin Width of sack= width + depth of bin Length of sack= Height of bin + approx. 15cm for overhang and tying How does the sizing work on a sack? A lot of bin liners are shown as three sizes for example 18x29x39” This is how it works: The first measurement i.e. the 18 is the bottom gusset of the bag, useful if this is approximately the diameter of a round bin or width of a square bin. The second measurement, i.e. the 29 is the top measurement of the sack, double this makes the circumference of your bin top The third measurement is the length of the sack from bottom to top! This is where you need the extra to tie or fold over on your bin or sack holder! Step 3 - Choose your Thickness Not necessarily, so this is where testing comes in. CHSA have devised a scheme to make it easier to understand. Previously it was gauge or micron thickness. Another method is to check the weight of your sacks Consider what kind content will go in the sack. For example, if you know you are going to have heavy refuse then you will need a strong, durable sack, so you will need a 20 kg sack. If it will be used just for paper or other light weight items, you only need a 5 kg sack. Here are some general examples: 5kg - Paper/General Office Waste 10 kg - Domestic Refuse and Recycling 15 kg - Catering Food Waste 20 kg - Industrial Waste Benefits of Using Refuse Sacks One of the most lucrative benefits of switching to refuse sacks made from recycled plastics is the ability to reduce your facility's carbon footprint. By using refuse sacks made from PCR HDPE or PCR LDPE resins, you can help prevent the processing of finite fossil fuels. And when these fossil fuels are burned and processed, they release a myriad of harmful greenhouse gases that helps contribute to global warming. The Environmental Protection Agency estimates the burning of fossil fuels was responsible for 79% of the greenhouse gases emitted in the U.S. in 2010. At the same time, the EPA reports using PCR resins are the greener and more environmentally conscious decision. When your business uses refuse sacks made from recycled plastics, you'll help · Reduce the amount of oil utilized in the development of virgin plastics · Lower CO2 emissions associated with the production of virgin plastics · Help prevent refuse sacks made from virgin resins from ending up on landfills · Limit the consumption of energy associated with the creation of plastics For buying quality refuse sacks visit us here

From plastic materials to eco-friendly materials, disposable cutlery is available in different material types. For instance Plastic Made of plastic it is the most customary kind of disposable cutlery. Plastic cutlery is prepared from either polystyrene or polypropylene. Both the materials are inexpensive and have heat lenience of 180℉* and 250℉* respectively before distortion. Both are available in heavy, medium, and lightweight, in addition to several lengths and sizes. While both are recyclable, yet acceptance might be different by facility and state. PSM (Plant Starch Material) Plant starch materials cutlery is prepared from a mixture of plastic, for instance, polypropylene (20-30%), and PSM (70-80%), such as potato and corn starch. It is costlier in contrast to polystyrene or polypropylene disposable cutlery however could provide cost savings than other eco- friendly disposable cutlery substitute. The plastic constituent offers it the strength and density to crook before breaking and before distortion has heat lenience of 200℉*. However, with technological progressions and the accessibility of other cutlery alternatives, PSM has lost its popularity. Further, it is not eco-friendly. Eco- Friendly Cutlery These cutleries are compostable either at a commercial facility or at home compost. It leaves a smaller carbon footprint as well. It is a combination of wood, moulded fiber, bamboo, as well as CPLA (Crystallized Polylactic Acid). The only drawback is CPLA is inflexible and might breakdown under extreme pressure. Bamboo Bamboo is a fast renewable resource passing as an alternative for disposable cutlery. Even though bamboo is costly than plastic yet it is a certified compostable, lightweight, and smooth. Bamboo disposable cutlery makes an ideal option to exhibit sustainability efforts. Moulded Fiber Moulded fiber is prepared for a mixture of recycled wheat fiber, sugarcane, newsprint, paperboard, and other natural plant material. It is similar in value to bamboo. It is an ideal substitute for facilities that require a safe, not sharp cutlery preference such as in hospitals or prisons. The biggest drawback of moulded fiber becomes soft if it is left to sit in a liquid for too long. Wood Wooden cutlery is the most expensive substitute that can be prepared from various wood types such as poplar, willow, pine, or birch. These cutleries can be manufactured without any chemicals and are certified compostable. However, it is absorbent and porous permitting it to absorb moisture and bacteria from liquids and food. If not appropriately manufactured or else if it has a flaw, it could allow for splintering and cracking of the wood, which could probably cause harm to users. Benefits: Lately, a lot has been heard about the drawbacks of using disposables and they badly affect the environment. Our throwaway society is accused of polluting the sphere, leaving behind tons of garbage that ends up in the seas and cause death. However, at times using disposables is essential to avert infections and the spread of illnesses, for instance. 1-Hygiene – It assures a high level of hygienic standards owing to their mono use, making it particularly important in hospitals or places where the contamination risk is high. 2-Lightweight – These are much lighter than typical silverware which allows you to carry it even in big quantity. 3-Price – Disposable cutlery costs 1/10 in comparison to typical silverware. 4-No need to wash : Mono usage makes it much easier for users to just discard it and also save electricity and water. 5-Convenience: Disposable cutlery is more convenient, particularly if you cater to many individuals. 6-Reusable : It can be reused at times. In this case, it might not save the washing time, but it will be certainly cheaper and lightweight than standard silverware. 7-Biodegradable : As mentioned earlier, disposable cutlery can be biodegradable, which means that the plastic or material utilized is of a diverse kind and vitiate in the environment faster in contrast to the standard plastic, such as PET. So utilizing these types of cutlery is undoubtedly a more conscious optimal for the environment too. Ultimately, disposable cutlery is important to assist in practice the appropriate way of managing its use and helps any company or individual to become more responsible. The use of disposable cups has become quite popular over the past decade. People often get a coffee-to-go before they go to work or in lunch break. We currently use a shocking number of 500 billion plastic cups on a global scale each year. Advantages of Disposable Cups Below I have mentioned the different advantages of using disposable cups Easy to use and to dispose off One important advantage of disposable cups is that they are quite easy to use. If you grab a coffee-to-go, you can just pay and take it with you. You do not even have to drink it at the café, you can just grab it and sit on a bench in a park and enjoy your coffee. Also the disposal of those cups is quite simple and convenient. Once you finished your drink, you can just dispose of your cup into the next trash bin and do not have to worry about where to store your reusable mug. Being Eco-friendly, disposable cups contain less harmful materials There are also manufacturers who claim that they invented eco-friendly disposable cups. While disposable cups will never be entirely eco-friendly, those cups may at least be much eco-friendlier compared to conventional disposable plastic cups. Thus, if you have to use a disposable cup due to various reasons, at least make sure that you choose the one that is the least damaging for our environment. Disposable cups are light Another upside of disposable cups is that they are quite light compared to using a reusable mug that is made out of porcelain or other heavy materials. Thus, especially for older people who do not have too much power anymore, disposable cups might be a great way to make their lives easier. You don’t have to bring your own mug Disposable cups are also quite convenient in the sense that you do not have to carry your own cup with you all the time. This might be especially true when it comes to business trips. Quite often, business trips are rather stressful and you might have many things going on in your head and therefore you might not have the nerves to think about bringing your reusable cup at all. Thus, in order not to stress yourself too much, disposable cups may be more suitable in stressful situations where you have to focus all your mental efforts on other things. You can’t forget your mug somewhere Another issue with reusable mugs is that you can easily forget them somewhere. For instance, if you are traveling, chances are that you might forget it sooner or later when you leave. In turn, this cup will likely end up in the garbage and the positive effect of using a reusable cup will be quite limited due to that. In contrast, it doesn’t really matter if you forget your disposable cup somewhere since you would dispose it into the garbage anyways. You don’t need to worry about breaking your cup Reusable cups are often quite fragile and you might have to take great care not to break them. This is especially true when it comes to your travels. You always have to make sure to pack your backpack in a manner so that your disposable cup is protected properly. Otherwise, you might experience some unpleasant issues. Hence, disposable cups are also quite convenient in the sense that they cannot break and you can store them quite easily since they are made out of rather elastic materials like plastic or paper. Top covers can protect you from spills When you get a coffee or tea, it will be quite hot at the beginning. Especially if you are in a rather crowded place, you might be at risk that someone hits you accidentally and you will suffer from spills, which may potentially burn your skin. Thus, in order to prevent you from this unpleasant surprise, you can use top covers for your disposable cup. By using one of those covers, you will be protected against spills that can potentially hurt you. Convenient for parties Let’s be honest. If you make a party, there are many things that you have to take care of and you might want to make your life as easy as possible. Therefore, using disposable cups may be a great way to facilitate your life since you can buy them in large quantities and just dispose of them into the garbage once the party is over. This makes it quite easy to supply a high number of people with drinks without having to buy large quantities of glasses or mugs which you would no longer use after the party is over. Disposable cups are affordable Since disposable cups are around for many years, production processes have been optimized over the past years and the costs to produce those cups are usually quite low. Moreover, also the raw materials are rather cheap, which leads to a state where we can buy large quantities of those disposable cups at a quite low price. Therefore, it might be quite tempting to rely on disposable cups also from a financial perspective. Functioning system for cafes Coffee shops also realized that their customers often do not have plenty of time to sit down and therefore, they made a valid business model out of the coffee-to-go model. Customers simply often want to rely on disposable cups and cafés have adapted to the customers’ preferences in order to maximize their profits. Thus, a whole industry branch formed around the disposable cups model, which is widely accepted by the general public. Also disposable cups could be used several times (in theory) Many people might not know it, but you don’t have to dispose of your disposable cup after a single use. In fact, those disposable cups could be used many times before they finally end up in the trash bin. If you are looking for quality white plastic cups, visit her e

If you want to decorate sweet treats like cakes and pastries, you need a good piping bag. The right piping bags and tips will allow you to create gorgeous decorations including beautiful flowers made out of frosting. But wait, there’s more! Piping bags come in handy for more than just baked goods. You can also use them for piping mashed potatoes, perfectly poured pancakes, dough, filling pasta shells, piping butter, or filling savoury appetisers. The sky’s the limit with the right kind of piping bag. A piping bag is a hand-held triangular-shaped bag made from pliable and food safe materials. It is used to pipe ingredients like icing or potatoes by pressing them through a narrow opening at one end, fitted with or without a piping tip. You can attach pastry or decorating tips to the end of the bag. Tips come in a variety of shapes and sizes including round tips, star tips, petal tips and basket-weave tips just to name a few. There are different types of piping bags to choose from. Canvas piping bags are reusable piping bags that are heavier and more pliable than disposable bags. These are great for working with stiff dough, purees, and warm ingredients. These bags can stain over time and take longer to dry. Disposable plastic piping bags are the most popular and versatile. You simply cut the tip off with scissors to use as is or you can fit it with any type of piping tip you desire. These are the easiest to clean up because they are single use and disposable. Try these tips for choosing the perfect pastry bag: Pick your bag material When you only occasionally do piping, it’s OK to use what you have on hand, such as a gallon-sized plastic bag. Just fill it with frosting, cut a small hole in one corner and frost away. The trouble with this, however, is that you don’t have a lot of control like you would with a proper tip. These are idea for chefs who consistently use them because they hold their shape and can be washed and used repeatedly. There are also disposable plastic pastry bags that can be used with your regular tips and tossed in the trash when you’re done. The canvas versions are more environmentally friendly, but they do involve more clean-up. Use the right size If you are frosting a large cake and need a lot of icing, use a large pastry bag. The Better Homes and Gardens test kitchen typically uses 12- or 18-inch bags. These allow for you to continually ice (such as in a circle, layering frosting onto a big cake) without having to stop and switch bags or refill. For smaller jobs, like lettering or minute details, go for a small bag like a 6-incher. This will make it easier for you to maneuver the bag while frosting. Consider tip varieties Many of the beautiful, textured designs that can be seen on cakes are made with piping bags that have special tips. A round hole can be used to make incredible designs, but some tip varieties add interesting texture automatically, like ones with indents to look like a star or snowflake or with a thin slit. These also come in various sizes to fit the bag you’re using and to change the size of the design that comes out in the frosting. It’s fun to experiment and try these out. We recommend using a sheet of wax paper to test each bag and tip before using them. This way you know for sure you will be pleased with the design and amount of frosting that is coming out onto your cake or other baked item. If you are working on a masterpiece cake or design that requires the use of several tip shapes, consider using a coupler. This little device is inserted into the pastry bag and serves as a sort of socket for the tip, which is twisted on. When you need to change shapes, just unscrew the tip and switch to the one you need. Some other tips and tricks for using piping bags are Always use large piping tips for fillings, batter, dough, meringue, and more. You can use a toothpick to help loosen the lump that blocks the tip of your piping bags. To avoid this, always make sure to sift the confectioner sugar before mixing. Do not overfill your bag. ½ cup of icing at a time is advisable. Wilton decorating bags have a fill line feature to guide your measuring. Fill two decorating bags with two colours, separately. The end of each bag should be cut to half an inch and drop into a larger piping bag (16 in.); 1M or 2A will do. If you are looking for quality piping bags, you can choose from different brands but Amico is one of the best that you must definitely try out.

The History of Duct Tape In 1943, Vesta Stoudt had a job in a munitions factory where ammo cases were sealed with paper tape and melted wax. Stoudt proposed a fix to use waterproof cloth tape instead as the cases were too hard to open on the battlefield Johnson & Johnson adapted surgical adhesive tapes to Stoudt’s specifications, and soldiers nicknamed the material “duck tape” in reference to its ability to repel moisture “like water off a duck’s back.” Following World War II, duct tape began to catch on in the U.S. as a handy tool for home construction. People were using it to hold metal air ducts together, so the company re-branded the product as “duct tape” and updated it with a matching silver color made from powdered aluminium. Thus, duck tape became duct tape and this word is known till date. How Does It Work? Duct tape relies on what’s known as a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) for its inherent stickiness. PSAs are soft polymer blends that exploit van der Waals forces to join two objects together. The strength of the bond is due to the fact that the adhesive is hard enough and its viscoelastic properties are powerful enough to resist flow when stressed. Interestingly, its namesake usage (“duct”) is one of the few things that duct tape isn’t recommended for. Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory conducted tests in 1998 to see how well different types of tape performed at sealing ducts, and, compared to the other products, duct tape was the clear loser. Using duct tape on actual ductwork is now considered a code violation in many buildings. Types of Duct Tape Duct tape’s initial design was simple but effective, a strong fabric bonded to polyethylene film for sealing/waterproofing, silver-gray colouring to match metal duct work, and a thick coating of adhesive to seal the joints and make them airtight. But people quickly determined that this speciality tape could be used for a variety of other purposes, and the boom was on. Many new versions were manufactured – each with different qualities of fabric, polyethylene, and adhesive, for many different end-uses. As a result, manufacturers now offer a wide range of grades of polyethylene/fabric types and in a wide variety of colours. 1. General Purpose With a low fabric count, a thin polyethylene film, and a low weight adhesive, general-purpose tapes work well enough for odd jobs where long service life isn’t necessary. 2. Industrial Grade With industrial-grade tapes, the fabric and polyethylene are upgraded, so the tape becomes more of a “workhorse” with added adhesive coating weight. One popular variation is multi-colored industrial tape that is used to seam and hold carpets at exhibitions, where the adhesive must be removed cleanly. 3. Professional Grade Sometimes called “contractors’ grade” these tapes offer more of an upgrade to the components of the industrial-grade tape for added strength, adhesion, and durability. 4. Gaffer’s Tape Typically, gaffer’s tape is a matte black for minimal light reflection and is used in movies, television, and photo studios to temporarily tape cables to the floor or light fixtures to vertical posts. This type of tape needs to be able to be easily torn by hand and remove cleanly. 5. Stucco Tape Stucco tape is used to attach protective polyethylene film over doors and windows during house construction prior to spraying the outside walls with stucco. Designed to be used outdoors for several days at a time, stucco duct tape must be able to resist the ultraviolet of the sun’s rays during that time – and not come apart from the vinyl window frames. 6. True Duct Tape This one lives up to its name – duct tape is truly intended for sealing air ducts. Duct tape must be permanent and able to withstand the prolonged heat and air pressure for the lifetime of the duct. It may even need to be flame retardant to meet some building codes. Duct tape is the true top of the line, a high tensile, hardworking tape. 7. Coated Cloth Tape A roll of coated cloth tape has gone with every U.S. manned space launch, and is also commonly known as “Mission Tape.” This tape played an essential role in the construction of the carbon dioxide absorbers which saved the lives of the three astronauts in the ill-fated Apollo 13 mission. With such a wide variety to choose from, start by considering exactly what you expect your tape to do. Then, evaluate the right polyethylene/fabric backing judged by tensile strength, as well as the right adhesive coating thickness, judged by adhesion level, for the best performance with the lowest cost. There are quite a few reasons to choose bubble wrap over the other options. To illustrate the difference, let’s think about some of your other options. You can use Styrofoam, airbags, foam, or even newspaper to wrap fragile items for shipment. While these options might work, all of them have certain drawbacks that bubble wrap does not have. Let’s check out some features of using bubble wraps. Lightweight: Bubble wrap is an ideal lightweight way to protect goods in transit, shipping and storage. Being on a roll, can be cut to size and used in any dimensions to wrap pretty much any shape or sized item. It can also be used to fill in the voids in boxes, to protect electronics from static and moisture and can be used to line envelopes. Easy to Apply: Bubble wrap is one of the easiest ways to protect delicate items when storing or shipping them sticking it on a roll makes it simple. You can just pull and tear off the exact amount you need. Effectiveness: Bubble wrap is one of the most effective forms of protective packaging not just because it is fun to pop, but because it offers an unprecedented degree of protection, being both shock absorbing and abrasion resistant. It is also lightweight and extremely flexible. Flexibility: It not only offers great protection, but also flexibility both physically and in how adaptable it is. It can be wrapped around items, regardless of their size and to some extent their shape. If you get it on rolls then you can cut and tear it to size to fit around all manner of items as you need it. Reusable: Another extraordinary motivation to utilize this material is that it very well may be reused. In actuality, you can reuse bubble wrap the same number of times as you need. This is the explanation this material is very eco-accommodating, dissimilar to other bundling materials you can discover in the market. Since it tends to be reused ordinarily, clients can set aside a ton of cash. Stress Reliever: Bubble wrap can help alleviate pressure. At the point when you are under pressure, you can get a bubble wrap and pop the bubbles however much you might want. It can assist you with soothing your disappointment by the day's end. Therefore, you don't have to take any medication to decrease the manifestations of your pressure or discouragement. The power of packaging is undeniable. And we understand that choosing the right box for your products can feel overwhelming. But let us tell you it’s well worth the time to do a little research so you understand both the types of boxes, as well as the ins and outs of each. Do you know the differences, advantages and disadvantages between a double wall box and a single wall box? How do you know which one is right? Before committing to your box type when packaging your products, think about the type of box you need. Doing so can save you time and money in the long run. Because the type of box you use is one of the most important packaging decisions you’ll make, for several reasons. Packaging is about more than just design, you need to consider strength and durability, functionality and much more. If you need boxes that offer superior strength and durability, you might want to consider double wall boxes. What Are Double Wall Boxes? Double wall boxes are sturdier and more rugged than single wall boxes are. Much like single wall boxes, double wall boxes are made with fluted paper sheets that are pressed in place in between two sheets of liner paper. Both the inner and outer components can be made from a variety of materials, including recycled paper, Kraft paper or even what’s known as test paper. Box strength and durability are determined by the type of paper that’s used and the size of the flutes. The major difference between single and double wall boxes is that double walls have, you guessed it, two layers of the fluted center material rather than just one . When to Use Double Wall Boxes Double wall boxes are an excellent choice for products that are on the heavier side or that need more protection. They’re also a great option when products will need to be safely stacked and stored in transit or warehoused while waiting to be sold. Because they’re more rigid, they’ll better-withstand those long-term stacking and storing conditions. Double wall boxes are often used in retail outlets and manufacturing facilities. Both single and double wall boxes offer more insulation and protection against sudden or volatile temperature changes. When to Avoid Double Wall Boxes – Consider Strength, Storage & Budget If your product will not be stored for any length of time and it isn’t extremely heavy or sensitive to temperature, a double wall box may not be worth the extra investment in terms of cost. Single wall boxes will typically do a fine job for packing and moving or storing lightweight products or goods. Is budget is a concern (isn’t is always)? Keep in mind that, yes, double wall boxes are a bigger investment than the single walled options, but they can sometimes pay for themselves when you assess the expenses and overall cost to replace any damaged items if you use single walled boxes that don’t get the job done. Does It Even Matter? You may be wondering…does the type of box you use even matter? According to the 2018 State of the Packaging Industry Report, 84 percent of survey respondents, who all have accomplished roles in consumer packaging sectors, state that packaging has played a huge role in building their brand, and that the importance has only increased over the last two years. This is just one indication of how important packaging is in overall branding and product perception. So, what does all this mean to you? In a nutshell, it means you simply cannot afford to overlook what type of box you’re putting your products in. And it makes sense that before you do anything in terms of packaging, you need to choose your box. Are double wall boxes right for you? If you’re interested in creating both double wall and single wall boxes, check out our box configurator and create your boxes today! Custom Boxes Now is your one-stop shop for all your boxing needs.

There are various packaging options in the market, but one of the most commonly used packaging material is polyethylene. It is the most durable type of plastic available today owing to its properties of chemically resistant and low in cost. Polyethylene or PE is derived from petroleum polymers and can survive any environmental hazards. Let us look at some of the top advantages of using polyethylene packaging. 1) Superior Protection Polyethylene is leakage proof which means it does not allow water vapor to pass through it. It can be heat sealed, this means the plastic can be wrapped around the product and secured with an airtight seal. Electronic companies use PE for their electronic components as it gives protection from moisture and tampering. 2) Highly Adaptable Polyethylene is highly versatile and customizable. Along with the protection, it offers a great advertising option to suit the product making it very adaptable. It offers different thickness and clarities as well as various designer colors for a more customized option. 3) Low Weight PE is light and doesn’t require much storage space. Due to this, it is easy to transport, thereby reducing the carbon footprint during transportation. 4) Economical Along with moisture barrier, High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) a type of PE is a low cost, easy to process and an opaque packaging product. HDPE a type of PE is puncture resistant, tear resistant and lower in stretching. A common example of this material is grocery bags, trash bags, retail packaging bags, and packaging films 6) Excellent Rigidity Derived from Polyethylene, Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) offers excellent rigidity than other forms of plastic. It maintains a firm protective structure and exhibits excellent moisture resistant properties. The best examples of these are PET bottles, cooking oil bottles, milk cartons, and most of the bottled caps. 7) Superior Flexibility Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) another form of PET is A highly flexible material and is used for primary products across the globe. The material is soft, puncture resistant, high in clarity, heat seal-able and thus proves to be right for packaging. Most of the poly bags used to wrap products, tubing, and packaging of auto parts and tools are all made from LDPE. Nowadays the vast majority of people buy takeaway lunch. But it’s necessary to choose a good quality of disposable food containers to guarantee an appropriate food storage We love and hate them at the same time! These containers are handy, re-usable and they occasionally drive us crazy. You can surely relate to the following problems: You have way too many containers and lids, they are stashed in every cabinet and drawer, and they occasionally fall out in a heap. And yet… When you need a container, it’s difficult to find matching containers and lids. When you use your containers in the fridge, it’s difficult to tell the difference between leftovers in a butter tub and actual butter in a butter tub. You worry because you have heard that re-purposing or reheating food in plastic containers can leach chemicals into your foods. Your soup or leftovers have leaked in your lunch bag. Here’s how to fix these problems: Pull out all the plastic containers in your kitchen and pair up the bottoms and lids. Recycle or re-purpose the solo ones, do this each couple of months. Dedicate one cabinet or one drawer as a home for your containers, and only store them there. Buy clear (or mostly clear) containers, so you can easily identify their content Choose a few sizes of containers, and stick with just those. (You can find different shapes and sizes of containers on our store Buy containers that stack, both while in use and when not in use. Most brands offer snap-together lids. Keep just a pile or two. If you find that you never get to the second or third pile of containers, then you probably don’t need the second or third pile of containers. If you have too many containers right now, spread the love. Re-purpose them as drawer dividers, send home leftovers with friends, donate them to a class room for craft time, recycle them Don’t fall into the “it was free; I guess I’ll keep it” trap. Deli containers, sherbet bowls, butter tubs or cottage cheese containers (and related items) are not made to last. Recycle them! Free up some cabinet space and decrease some stress by paring down your container collection! I hope you will benefit from all the points discussed above.
